BRICKFIELD RANGERS FOOTBALL CLUB
was founded in 1976 since when it has now developed into one of the most successful football
clubs in the North East Wales area.
The clubs Youth Development has recently introduced a Disability Section & Under 8 age group
where although too young to play in organised leagues, local clubs with
the same age group arrange friendlies between themselves.
With the club now commencing at this age group, football at Bricky now
ranges from U8 to U16 in Youth Football Development, U10/11 playing
Mini League Football (7 a side) and U12 to U16 (11 a side) in the Wrexham
and District Youth Football League affiliated to the North East Wales Football
Association and Football Association Wales,Season 2005/6 sees the club entering an U17 playing in the Clwyd Junior Youth League.
A few seasons ago Bricky became aware that when the U16 age group
finished their Youth Football we did not have a Senior side to allow them
to continue playing for Brickfield and hence this meant that we were losing
the players that had spent many years coming through the youth system.
We therefore took a major step forward in our club and introduced a senior
side in order to allow the players having reached the age of 16 years
to continue their football and more importantly continue their football
with Brickfield instead of going to other clubs or even drifting away
from football altogether.
The senior side therefore joined the Welsh National League.
Furthermore we now have a Reserve side due to the overspill of players,
which shows the depth of youth continuing their football with the club.
Senior side competing in - Premier Division
Reserve side competing in - Division 2
Season 2000/1 being the first season for the Senior side since our promotion
to the Premier Division saw them finish midway in the league as
well as finalists in the League Cup, all in their first season,
a great achievement, and our Reserve side taking 3rd place in Division
3 the foundation well and truly in place.
Each season we have over 150 players throughout the club representing Bricky at all levels.
Many players have been lucky enough to have joined Professional Clubs
and we are pleased that they still keep in touch with us.
